27-year-old Shawn Christy has continued to evade authorities for months. A nationwide manhunt for the suspect is being organized by the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, FBI and local law enforcement agencies around the country. The suspect is accused of threatening violence against several political officials including President Donald Trump.
The suspect first became a target of importance when he tweeted out the message, “I promise I’ll put a bullet in your head as soon as I put one in the head of President Donald Trump.” This threat was directed specifically at both the president and a Northampton County district attorney. The federal warrant for Christy’s arrest was issued on June 19th. Upon issuing the warrant, police noted that the suspect was already currently wanted in Pennsylvania. His open arrest warrant was related to charges of burglary, a failure to appear in court for an aggravated assault and probation violation.
Since making the online threat, Christy has laid low and evaded police. The suspect has threated to use “full lethal force on any law enforcement officer that tries to detain [him].” While the Feds have issued a whopping $20,000 reward for information leading to the suspect, they are also warning the public not to make contact with him if spotted. Immediately reach out to local police if you see this man. The suspect is considered both armed and dangerous.
The manhunt has shifted towards Ohio after authorities believe the suspect stole a vehicle in the area. It’s believed that Christy stole a truck, food, shotgun and money around the Hazle Township.
