Lieutenant Braulio Gonzalez, a 44-year-old member of the Miami-Dade Police force, has been taken into police custody after disturbing allegations have surfaced. The officer has been charged with armed kidnapping of a child and four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a minor. Both charges are felony crimes that could land the officer in prison for life if convicted.

An investigation was launched on September 5th when a young child told her psychologist that she was being molested by Gonzalez. The psychologist took the information very seriously, and she had a duty to report the crime to the authorities. The child alleged that Gonzalez had molested her several times over the past two years. Law enforcement officials are trying to protect the identity of the minor who is now 10 years old. Police have confirmed that Gonzalez and the child knew each other, and the reported abuse had been occurring since the child was eight years old.

The child revealed disturbing details about the first encounter. Gonzalez allegedly used his police-issued firearm to threaten the youngster. He allegedly pointed the gun to the child’s head and forced her to comply with his demands. The child told cops that Gonzalez threatened to shoot her sibling if she refused. The child was so terrified that she followed him to his bedroom.

The suspect reportedly molested her for the first time that night, but he continued to perform the acts over a period of two years. He eventually began forcing her to touch him inappropriately. While the investigation is still ongoing, police have gathered enough evidence to arrest the suspect.
