Vince Vaughn, the famous 48-year-old actor, has officially been charged with a misdemeanor stemming from his arrest back in June.
The actor’s original arrest occurred in Manhattan Beach, California, at a DUI checkpoint. On June 10th at around 12:40 A.M., Vaughn approached the DUI checkpoint where he was asked to perform a sobriety test. It was discovered that the suspect had a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher, and he was refusing to comply with an inspection of his vehicle. He was charged with driving under the influence and refusing to comply with an officer. Vaughn’s interactions with the police department quickly went viral when his mugshot was released hours after the arrest. The actor was able to successfully post bail within the same day, and he was released from jail.
Police reports indicate Vaughn was also carrying a male passenger. The passenger was also arrested for both public intoxication and obstruction of justice. It’s apparent that the duo was refusing to exit the vehicle or comply with officer’s demands. The Manhattan Beach Police Department’s Sargent Tim Zins explained the situation. He claimed the actor and his passenger were not “fighting with officers, but more of delaying the investigation.” The officer further confirmed there was no use of force during the arrest.
According to police records, this is the suspect’s first DUI charge. All of the charges levied against the Wedding Crashers and Dodgeball star are considered misdemeanors, but he could still serve up to 360 days in county jail for his combined crimes.
