The Orlando Sentinel reports that a Florida woman who smiled from ear to ear in her mugshot after a DUI arrest has been charged with manslaughter. Angenette Marie Welk is a wife and mother from Ocala.

Welk, 44, surrendered to jail authorities in Marion County on Saturday after the new charge was lodged against her, which carries mandatory prison time. DUI manslaughter is a felony and carries a minimum of 4 years in prison and maximum of 15 years.

Welk had formerly been charged with DUI causing serious bodily harm and DUI causing property damage, but the victim of the crash has since died. Sandra Clarkson, 60, died four days after the crash that occurred when Welk was driving drunk.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Clarkson’s funeral expenses. The goal is to raise $2,500 so that she can be flown to Kentucky to be buried by her mother.

Adding insult to injury, Clarkson died just a few days after the smiling mugshot of Welk had circulated in several news stories across the country.

At the time of the accident, Welk had a blood alcohol level of 0.172 percent. In Florida, the legal limit is 0.08.
