The Tennessean reports that alleged MS-13 gang members are being charged with two Nashville murders. The federal grand jury returned the five-count indictment yesterday for murder in aid of racketeering.

The suspects are Oscar Degaldo Flores, 24, of El Salvador, and Luis Colindres, 21, of Honduras. They also face charges of conspiracy, witness tampering and weapons charges. The men are accused in the shooting deaths of Hector Eduardo Zuniga-Zelaya, 35 and Yeri Hernandez-Gabino, 18. The shooting happened in September, just outside of the Maple Crest Apartments in Nashville. It is alleged that they were trying to keep the men from talking to law enforcement officials.

The bodies of Zelaya and Gabino were discovered in a black Lincoln MKS, and both had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Both defendants could face a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
